hey guys

actually I need this demonstration Audio CD (link removed) but I can't buy it from Amazon. they don't ship to Iran. It would be great is someone could buy it and rip it to Flac and mail the files to me and eliminate the CD. :)  I'll pay all the charges plus $10 extra for doing this

I'll help you. Please check PM and we can agree on the best way to get you what you want.

Amazon had only four left, so I bought one. I also have a similar recording downloaded from HDTRACKS you might like.

I'll investigate the cost to mail physical media to Iran.

I don't know them all but there were some great tunes on that playlist, including Hoe Down!

If you haven't heard Rodeo (pronounced Row Day Oh) you might want to check it out, it's fun!  It's a very American opera composed by Aaron Copeland in 1942.  It's pretty funny in places, an American classic!

And yes, if you are American then you've heard the tag ending which is part of a commercial aired here by the Beef Industry Council and Beef Board.  "What's for dinner?  BEEEF!"  Da Da Da.  B)

Diz, I have seen a lot of nice gestures on the forum, that has got to be in the top 5. Just one Klipsch fan helping another, no baggage attached.

Arash has a pair of LS in Iran he inherited from his grandfather and is trying to figure out a way to buy 402 horns and get them sent there.

I look forward to the day when we get word that Arash has RSVP'd he will be attending a Pilgrimage in Hope.

Diz, you confirmed what I always suspected about you: You Sir are a Gentleman.

"Delivered" means it was delivered to me by Amazon.  I won't know until tomorrow how difficult and/or expensive it will be to send physical media to Iran.  Depending on Arash's pain tolerance, I might have to rip everything to FLAC files and send via emails.

I trust Arash implicitly.  He has been a valuable contributor to this Forum for many years.

Apparently, I was naive to trust newbie Fitsch when he wanted help getting badges sent to Deutschland.  He acknowledged receipt of the badges, then nothing.  He had agreed to send a couple of German logo'd beer glasses in return.  Never got the glasses.

After ripping the CD to FLAC files using the Pono Music World/JRiver software, I sent the first two tracks to Arash via email as a test. So far so good,

I'll listen to the FLAC files from Pono through my DIY boombox while I clean the garage. I'll post a review of the CD. For Arash's sake, I hope I like it.

I'm now on the sixth track. My DIY boombox can't hold a candle to Arash's speakers, but the CD sounds excellent. Percussion is tight. The horns are clear. Vocals are excellent. Strings and piano sound natural. The dynamic range is wide. I'm not going to be humming the tunes later, but it should be a good demonstration of Arash's speakers.

I am sincerely curious, how difficult was it to send something from the US to Iran? Was US mail the best option? Do they just have you fill out a form and declare it is not one of items that are prohibited from being shipped there?

Travis,

I'll let you know tomorrow.

I have FTP sites you are welcome to use.  I use Filezilla, which is free, and I can email you a file that you simply import and will have the password and other stuff already set.

Then, you can send the file on to him to use to download.  Would be less hassle than a long stream of emails.

That sounds promising Dave.  Will he have trouble downloading at his end?

I know no more than you do of conditions in Iran.  Ask him if he can access and install Filezilla.  Comes up in any search.  If so, then, like I said, I can send a settings file that will handle the rest.  Once online, it's just drag and drop like any file operation.

I really appreciate you Niel for your kindness. this is why I feel good when I'm in this community and I don't feel any discriminatory behaviors like other diy forums.

I have a website hosting space with 3Gb free space. I can give you the login details and you can go to "file manager" and click the "upload" and select the files on your HDD and files will be uploaded there. I can download them afterwards

thanks,

Send me the details.  If the 12 emails sending 2 tracks at a time via Google drive don't work, I'll try to upload directly to your site. You might need to purge as we go.  The total file size of the other disc is larger than 3GB.
