Playlist 50th Reunions Class of '67?

I've been asked to put together a playlist of songs from '64 through '67. There is a wealth of material from that period. The songs will be randomly shuffled from a digital player.

What songs from that 4 year period would you include? Secondarily what songs would you exclude?

Since the reunions are in Michigan, it is imperative that Michigan based songs are included. As I type this, "Hanky Panky" by Tommy James & The Shondells (Niles, MI) is playing from Pandora.

You guys are old.   ;)

My dad graduated shortly after that but my uncle was about this age, totally different musical tastes just within a couple of years according to my dad.

I don't think they had any music out in 1967

I had to look up a portion of these to make sure I got the band right for the time period (many songs have remake versions after those on my list) and verify they fall between 64 and 67; however, I remember listening to them from the radio, Mom's records, Dad's records, television, commercials, movies, etc.

The following songs in the first group had always given me the impression of having somewhat of a 1950's "style" of "rock n roll" music and an "American Bandstand / Dick Clark" type of dancing. :emotion-29: :emotion-29:

I appreciate the feedback.

Even repeating the obvious choices is valuable as it confirms a consensus.  Every now and then a sleeper is exposed, such as:

Admittedly, this was a truly local hit in 1965, but it was a hit,  People who matriculated around here then will recall it.

It was further burned into my memory by my sophomore roommate who was also from Allen Park (the Detroit Lions train in Allen Park, but it seems to do them no good).  That same roommate caused me to know the Allen Park Jaguars fight song (sung to the tune of Washington & Lee Swing) as well as my own.  He always sang it while in the shower.
