oldtimer
Where do you send your gear to get repaired? Pitch in and maybe we can make a list of shops by region for the highest rated.

Karsoncookie
Sounds like a very logical helpful idea. Results should be pinned, or at least visible in some like "resources" place Lars
Rivervalleymgb
Paul 79Paul Hovenga http://www.manymoonsaudio.com/ Has done all my work for the last decade. Even before he opened his own shop. None better.
Tarheel
Not a bad idea Brian. Nothing much around these parts that I'm aware of. I had a R2R at a tech's place I found on FB and he passed away before I got the deck back
BamaMike
I would love to find someone in the SE (Alabama/Georgia) area. I have a couple of pieces of vintage integrated equipment in need of repair.
Pete H
This is a great idea. I'm in N.E. Ohio and the last POS repair shop I tried in Canton, completely ripped me off and worse yet, they didn't fix anything.

BamaMike - did I see in another thread that you're in or around Montgomery AL? (back in the day, we used to call it MonkeyTown, but anyway...) years ago, I used a place in metro Birmingham that I think is still there. staff has probably turned over some, but within the last year or 2, last I saw, they were still there. Audio & Video Service Co, Inc. http://avs-design.com/default.asp it's been ages since I've used them, but they did a good job on my H-K receiver that I'm still using
ssh
Craig Ostby @ NOS Valves has restored/repaired my Bogen and Scott tube amps. I wholeheartedly recommend him. SSH

oscarsear
Heck find us cheaper, reliable and safe shipping.........................
The Dude
Heck find us cheaper, reliable and safe shipping......................... We've been working on that too. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/164381-pony-express-central-shipping-discussion/ I haven't had much issues with the price of shipping and reliability. Though that might depend how much one ships on a regular bases. My biggest issue is larger items at a reasonable price. ON topic, I have received stuff from Nosvalves that have been top notch. I recently send my MC2505 to Terry, but it is still in queue, so I can't speak of my service received.
Deang
Thought we were looking for solid state techs?
Moderators dtel's wife Posted June 26, 2016 Moderators Share Posted June 26, 2016 Thought we were looking for solid state techs? I think it's just repair techs in general. Maybe each should specify their specialty. If someone is willing to compile list(s) and forward to me I will pin them.
Deang
There is tube section and a solid state section. It doesn't make sense to put tube repair techs in the solid state section.
Moderators dtel's wife Posted June 27, 2016 Moderators Share Posted June 27, 2016 The list could be an "all inclusive" repair tech list separated by specialities. It could be pinned in both sections so those seeking help could easily find it.
Deang
That's a decent idea. Didn't mean to sound snarky - just trying to avoid confusion.

jason str
Many here have advertised their businesses here on the forum in the past and was told this was no longer allowed. Cannot see how this would be much different in any way.
jjptkd
Flannery's Vintage Audio specializes in out of warranty Sunfire repair and is factory trained / authorized. Bill worked directly under Bob Carver for several years and really knows his stuff. http://www.flannerysvintageaudio.com/
