Meat Loaf is not dead

Last night, when I saw on Facebook that Meat Loaf had collapsed on stage while performing in Edmonton in western Canada, I thought that might be the end of him, but in a few hours it turned out that he was recovering in hospital after suffering from severe dehydration.  That was good to hear.  We don't need to lose any more rock icons for a while, please.

However, the New York Post jumped the gun and declared him dead on their front page, much to the amusement of the New York Daily News:

In a video clip recorded from the audience, it appears that he was thinking something like, "Uh-oh, feeling wobbly.  Better lie down before I fall down and get injured!"  Meat Loaf stops singing, takes a few steps away from the microphone, and heads for the floor.  The singing continues, but it's not clear whether it's him or it's backup singers who sound a lot like him.  Stage crew members rush over to him, and after about ten seconds the band stops playing.

Here's a page about it from CBC News.  It seems he has collapsed onstage at least twice before.

An abandoned puppy left behind a dumpster was rescued by Meat Loaf's crew and named Little Ms. Karma.

Meat Loaf Finds Home for Pup

An abandoned puppy has a new start at life thanks to rock singer Meat Loaf. Last week, after a rehearsal for a performance in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the singer’s crew spotted someone leaving a young puppy behind a dumpster. They came to her rescue, had her examined by a veterinarian and named the “beautiful baby girl” Little Ms. Karma. Not wanting to leave her behind at a shelter or with a stranger, Meat Loaf, 68, and his crew took thedog on the road with them for a few days. But, they quickly found her a home on a “big ole ranch” with a member of  “the extended Meat Loaf family,” according to a post on the singer’s Facebook page, where he shared photos of the cute puppy. “She was homed with 'family' and we will always know that she's ok,” the musician wrote on Facebook. — Read it at Oklahoma’s Fox23
