TasDom
My 84 year old mother went thru the same procedure scenario and had 2 stents put in last year. She now has more energy, better color and is feisty as all get out. (Ironicaly her name is Betty and mine is William) My prayers and best wishes go out to your mother Betty and all of your family. Thru faith and a positive state of mind, all things can be accomplished. Billy

The doctor says her heart is healthy but a possible previous upper respiratory viral infection caused the effusion. Thanks again, Bill

willland
Surgery went well, mom is resting but in pain. The doctor drained 1/2 litre from her pericardium. Still not sure what caused it but as mentioned viral infection is suspected. I will see her tomorrow. Thanks again for all your prayers, well wishes, and encouragement. derrickdj1
I just got back in today and thought about you and your mom. I glad things went well. A half liter is a lot pressing on the heart. She should feel a lot better!
