Mizzoufball
I have a pt270aiu 300 watt receiver hooked up to 2 klipsch heresy hoo speakers and 2 small $20 speakers. For some reason I can barely turn up the sound before it keeps automatically shutting itself off. I can make it louder with the cheap speakers then I can with the klipsch speakers. What are the wattage suggestions on the heresy hoo's? Any help is greatly appreciated.

derrickdj1
Check for stray wires at the speaker input/output.
wvu80
Check for stray wires at the speaker input/output. Agree. The stray wires touching each other could also be at the receiver end. You have a dead short somewhere related to the speaker wires and the receiver is going right into protection mode.
Mighty Favog
I've also heard that called a "high impedance short".
jjptkd
Are you running both pairs at the same time? Check all your connections and put your ear up close to each driver while playing them to make sure they're all playing.
