Paducah Home Theater
Not sure if it's the recording or her voice but I can't comprehend about 90% of what she's saying. The tone sounds nice but she could be speaking French as far as I can tell on at least half of it.
Paducah Home Theater
This one is pretty nice, if you turn the sound off. She needs to lose that looping pedal.

teaman
Not bad. She has potential but that kind of music is not really my thing. If you like young talented guitarists check out Tina S on youtube. Edited July 16, 2016 by teaman
wvu80
Not sure if it's the recording or her voice but I can't comprehend about 90% of what she's saying. The tone sounds nice but she could be speaking French as far as I can tell on at least half of it. The way I hear the recording, it's her. She doesn't sound very well trained, probably self-taught. Her guitar playing is weak very tentative, there is no confidence in the playing. One reason you can't make out her words is she doesn't fill out her lungs with air so she is not articulating she is slurring in sort of a breathy way. She is also running out of air at the end of every phrase so just as you say, you can't make out the words. I also agree she has a pleasant tone to her voice and with some training and practice who knows what her next level is? This one is pretty nice, if you turn the sound off. She needs to lose that looping pedal. Her consonants are soft and she is not singing all of the letters in all the words. "Sun-shine" is being sung "suh-sigh." Too much "artsy sing-song" and not enough substance for my tastes. Agree about the looping pedal. It's a computer gimmick where a phrase is recorded in real time then played back and she sings along with herself. Here's what I mean. See if this guy(s) makes you Happy. It does me. Marvel
Phil Keaggy does a lot of looping when he plays live acoustic sets. Pretty much just his guitar, but he is extremely good at it. It's pretty hard to do.
Moderators Travis In Austin Posted July 16, 2016 Moderators Share Posted July 16, 2016 The vocals are very ordinary, maybe I'm spoiled. A real prodigy is so rare.
JohnA
Hi Marvel! If Hailey would quit "styling" her voice, she'd sound very appealing. OTOH, we can always use another contralto blues singer.

Marvel
If you heard her live you would probably think she is pretty good. By the time someone does something on a video (major artist or production), there is a lot of processing that gets done to make it understandable. There are a lot of good artists who take minimal processing to get there, but really, we might not like half the folks we hear if someone didn't massage the tracks. I like 'Geeks', clever lyrics and a good presentation. Thanks to Craig for typing them out! Bruce Edited July 17, 2016 by Marvel
RockOn4Klipsch
Take some time and listen to a young man from Texas , Hamilton Loomis. A Bo Didley protégé, I've met him a few times at local blues festivals. As someone else mentioned, trampled under foot and Amanda Fish have some nice tracks as well.
