Not sure if it's the recording or her voice but I can't comprehend about 90% of what she's saying.  The tone sounds nice but she could be speaking French as far as I can tell on at least half of it.

Not bad. She has potential but that kind of music is not really my thing. If you like young talented guitarists check out Tina S on youtube.

The way I hear the recording, it's her.

She doesn't sound very well trained, probably self-taught.  Her guitar playing is weak very tentative, there is no confidence in the playing.

One reason you can't make out her words is she doesn't fill out her lungs with air so she is not articulating she is slurring in sort of a breathy way. She is also running out of air at the end of every phrase so just as you say, you can't make out the words.

I also agree she has a pleasant tone to her voice and with some training and practice who knows what her next level is?

This one is pretty nice, if you turn the sound off. :)She needs to lose that looping pedal.

Her consonants are soft and she is not singing all of the letters in all the words.  "Sun-shine" is being sung "suh-sigh." Too much "artsy sing-song" and not enough substance for my tastes.

Agree about the looping pedal.  It's a computer gimmick where a phrase is recorded in real time then played back and she sings along with herself.

Here's what I mean.  See if this guy(s) makes you Happy.  It does me.

Phil Keaggy does a lot of looping when he plays live acoustic sets. Pretty much just his guitar, but he is extremely good at it. It's pretty hard to do.

The vocals are very ordinary, maybe I'm spoiled.

A real prodigy is so rare.

Hi Marvel!

If Hailey would quit "styling" her voice, she'd sound very appealing.

OTOH, we can always use another contralto blues singer.  :D

I am glad you said that. I love the lyrics! I jotted them down. Play the song while reading.

"Geeks" by (Hailey Knox)

just take a look at us

aren't we ridiculous

it's safe to say, we've got no common sense

just take a peek at us

the freaks on the minibus

the geeks you like to throw into the fence

you know it really hurts and you love it

you know it really hurts, we'll rise above it

you know it's gonna hurt but we know what we're worth

and ya'll get what you deserve

when all the geeks inherit the Earth

hey aren't we absurd

we're just a bunch of nerds

it's safe to say you're so much cooler than that

so take your punch at us

go ahead and steal the lunch from us

we'll take the blow and play our part in the end

you know it really hurts and you love it

you know it really hurts but you can shove it

right where it really hurts

whao-o-o-o we know what we're worth

and ya'll get what you deserve

when all the geeks inherit the Earth

you toss your sticks and stones

and we'll just lick our wounds

beware the underdog

payback is comin' soon

don't blame the universe

when the carmas reverse

just look at yourself

and whao-o-o take a look at us

and then you'll know what's up

whao-o-o-o we know what we're worth

and ya'll get what you deserve

when all the geeks inherit the Earth

whao-o-o-o we know what we're worth

we'll all go from worst to first

when all the geeks inherit the Earth

Frank played rhythm for Buddy for about 15 years around the world.

He has his own band now. Check them out

When he plays the guitar made out of a sawzall box, the sound is indescribable

If you heard her live you would probably think she is pretty good. By the time someone does something on a video (major artist or production), there is a lot of processing that gets done to make it understandable. There are a lot of good artists who take minimal processing to get there, but really, we might not like half the folks we hear if someone didn't massage the tracks.

I like 'Geeks', clever lyrics and a good presentation. Thanks to Craig for typing them out!

Take some time and listen to a young man from Texas , Hamilton Loomis. A Bo Didley protégé, I've met him a few times at local blues festivals.

As someone else mentioned, trampled under foot and Amanda Fish have some nice tracks as well.
