the best card for dvi out

I would look into a Matrox card. They are famous for producing *the best* picture quality (very high quality RAMDACs etc.)

All the new cards (which has a DVI out) can drive an HDTV in is max resolution (is it called 1040i?) but it is my impression that not all of them are good at it.

You might want to look into ATI Radeon All in Wonder (8500 is the highest-numbered model for the moment), too.

1st, the Matrox card is not all that and a bag of chips... check out tom's hardware's review of it

2nd, not 1040i, 1080i. Smile.gif

Hehe I know that review (and a few others), and a Matrox Parhelia is not the performance king by any means. BUT they produce *high quality* products (they cater for the pro's).

My old Matrox Millenium G200 produced a sharper picture than my ASUS Geforce3 TI200, for example. Take a look at

(a review of Matrox Parhelia at anandtech.com, this page focuses on the analogue image quality. I am not sure how much of this applies to DVI).
