Klipsch K33P, K55V, K77 khornwall (Very Rare) - $900 (Las Vegas)

The cheap hardware makes me wonder who at Klipsch put these together. I do remember back in the late 70s Wilson golf clubs were the rage, rightfully so.  A couple of the members got unbelievable deals on sets of irons. Of course when we put them on scales to check swing weights and flex boards to check shafts, they weren't even close to a matched set. Turns out, one of the employees was stealing the components and assembling them in his garage. Yes they were Wilson Staffs, but they could have been wrenches that's how bad it was.

Long winded story for a simple reply.

Yes they could be built by a Klipsch employee, but they are only worth the price of the parts IMO

"They are mounted in a custom cabinet that was made by klipsch".....

I doubt it, but I could be wrong, again.

If they are using Cornwall components, the cabinets aren't ported to the front. The horn is vertical, so if these are verticals, the horn would be horizontal. Also, there is no sound deadening material to be seen. The grill material isn't anything close to what Klipsch has used, that I know of.

Now the dog dish, that might be something from the Klipsch factory, or maybe to hold jewelry.

Sorry, I'm not buying anyone at Klipsch built that cabinet. Looks like a modified existing POS cabinet to fit the Cornwall motorboards. You know, for that custom built in look that was so popular in the 70's.

Just my 2 cents.

Here from the Internet is a photo of what I believe are actual "vertical" Cornwalls.

When the cabinet are in landscape, so too are the mouths of the mid and tweeter.

It is like I recall that there were left and right versions.  Are those pie-slice trademarks?

Not shown in the photo is the sticker on the back which had a L shaped diagram with arrows showing two "this end up" notations and arrows.  When those are honored, the tweet and mid are higher (closer to ear level) and the woofer and vent are near the floor.  When there is a grill this might not be obvious.

I too doubt the craigslist box was made by Klipsch particularly because of the lack of a vent and orientation of the mid. The owner had the big furniture and had to fit of cavity, I'd think.

I also don't know about the disk structure ( if that is what it is) at the throat of the mid.

Edit: Here is another photo and it seems to show the vent at the far right.  And now I'm not so sure there is a front vent in what I posted.  But both these seem to show a K-600 rather than a K-1000.  There is some chance the CL unit had the T vertical vent in the back at one time.  I'm just trying to give an honest appraisal.

Must be for a cat.  Even better.

OMG, don't laugh, but if we leave the dish for the Labrador out, our cat will pee in it every time...

Makes for interesting conversation at the vet when he asks how we got a urine sample...

The earliest Cornwall speakers had the K-1000 mid horn AND the rear slot port. I believe the K-600 showed up in 1963.

My '62's had K-600's in them.  These are DIY's for sure they did not leave the factory like that no way, no how.

Highly recommend you start your own for sale thread rather than latching on to this one which is old. It will be much more visible that way.
