Moderators dtel's wife Posted August 4, 2016 Moderators Share Posted August 4, 2016 The long awaited Press Release from Klipsch is available to view here: http://www.klipsch.com/news/klipsch-announces-non-profit-to-manage-klipsch-audio-history-museum So many of us have worked diligently since before the Pilgrimage to see this vision become a reality. Our new website will be up in short order. We are going to be looking for volunteers with any/all skill sets. We are hopeful that all of you are as excited about this as we are! Moderators Travis In Austin Posted August 4, 2016 Moderators Share Posted August 4, 2016 It's a long, but cool history, I will let Christy tell it when she has time. In a nutshell, Jim Hunter asked Christy about ideas on what to do with all of the things in the museum, PWK's papers, professional library and contents of the museum after he retires at the end of the year. Christy said something like "get Klipsch to donate the building, land and other stuff and we can keep it in Hope where it belongs." Jim replied (I'm paraphrasing) "were gonna need a bigger boat" to pull this off. Jim assembled a Working Group of Klipsch Forum members and employees to determine the feasibility of creating a non-profit corporation to take over and operate the museum. It was determined to be feasible and the Working Group furnished Jim with a bundle of documents and data to make his pitch to the President of KGI, Mr. Paul Jacobs. Paul said he supported the idea and would forward it to Voxx. Mr. Jacobs gave Jim the green light and that takes us up until now. An Arkansas Nonprofit corporation has been formed called the Klipsch Heritage Musuem Association, Inc.(KHMA) which will operate the Klipsch Musuem of Audio History. The KHMA will have a Board of Trustees and Officers that will consist of Forum members who chose to become members of KHMA along with KGI employees. As Christy pointed out, the Association is now in a position to seek volunteers who are interested in making the Musuem a reality. Literally every skill set is needed. Construction trades, accounting, finance, bookeeping, secretarial, marketing, fundraising, promotion, social media etc., etc. We have a few current Klipsch employees who have been very generous with their time in helping us with marketing ideas, starting a website, and many, many other things along the way, but we are now in a position to speak freely about this endeavor and find out what talent the forum members may be able to contribute. We welcome anyone who can help us moving forward, and more information will be posted here on where you can send us a note if you are interested.
