KP-2002 woofer replacement/enhancement

Hi, everyone.

I'm rebuilding a small PA system for a local establishment and working with a pair of KP-2002 mains. The woofers need replacing but I'm thinking about just keeping the boxes, as they inherently sound pretty good (or did, when they were working), they're already mounted securely in position where the mains would need to be, anyway, and I have the luxury of matching the new power amp to the speakers instead of having to work the other way around.

This is a small bar, and their needs are for a simple, decently-powered, vocal-and-DI-only PA system. They were formerly using a powered Mackie PPM-608. I'm going to install a proper setup with a small mixer, power amps locked away from prying musicians, 31-band EQs across mains & monitors, etc.

The mains amp would be running bridged mono. Anyone have suggestions for higher-handling replacement woofers for these KP-2002s? Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks.

The Eminence Delta Pro 12a is basically the Klipsch k-42 which would be a nice step up. I'd also recommend replacing the horn diaphragms with titanium ones as you'll get better response and extension to match the new woofers. While you have the speakers apart you might consider sending the crossovers to Bob Crites for testing and the installation of new capacitors to make the speakers like new again. With the new woofers I'd also buy some poly-fil and lightly stuff the cabinets.
