jwgorman
Ok, so it seems to me, in looking at the AK-3 schematic, Klipsch has 12db/oct filtering on squawker and 18db/oct on the tweet. The leads to the squawker are reversed (accounting for the 180 degree phase shift in a 12db/oct crossover) and the tweet is hooked up normally, but, since it's an 18db/oct crossover, we have a phase issue. If one had a robust tweeter like Mr Crites' 8-ohm 120 and you installed a L-R 12db/oct high pass filter at 6K, say, 1.6uf in series/.4mH in parallel and swapped the leads (like on the squawker) wouldn't the system phase be correct, at least at the network? jwgorman
So you're saying, nothing's really perfect? Not quite 180. So, 24db/oct supposedly has 0deg shift, probably not perfect either and, more components. Man, if I was smart, I'd figure out how Vandersteen does it with 6db/oct!
