peteb5
I have an Onkyo tx nr656, it has a sub hook up, and a sub pre out hookup, which one do I use and do I split the cable to connect to the r and l of the sub? Thanks in advance.
fuzzydog
Welcome to the forum pete. I'd try plugging it into the jack with the number 6 next to it. I'm just basing that on the handy graphic they put on the back of that model. You don't need to split the cable. Hope you stay around.
peteb5
Thanks for the reply FuzzyDog, that would be the subwoofer hook up, what is the sub pre out for and also, on the sub, do I hook into the L/LFE or R?
TasDom
Use the sub pre out on the receiver and into the left /LFE on the sub I use splitters into the l/r on my subs but it's not necessarily needed. It helps mine wake up with the auto on function. Welcome btw!
peteb5
Lol, I'm confused, 2 different opinions?
TasDom
The #6 as FD suggested is the sub pre out. Just run a RCA cable from there to the left/lfe input on the sub

peteb5
What happens to the bass when you go lower or higher on the lpf knob and should I change the lpf on the receiver too?
CECAA850
Use the receivers crossover only. Turn the crossover on the sub amp all the way up.
