jimjimbo
What other speaker manufacturer did PWK think most highly of, overall? Mostly interested in the technical/design aspect, rather than marketing, etc. BTW, great new section! Thanks for putting it up!
Moderators dtel's wife Posted September 8, 2016 Moderators Share Posted September 8, 2016 Yes! Great question! Jim shouid be responding to this shortly. PWK was definitely a student of other designs!
Moderators dtel's wife Posted September 9, 2016 Moderators Share Posted September 9, 2016 From Jim Hunter: Among his competitors, Paul obviously respected Jack Frasier (horns in Texas) and Rudy Bozak. This photo was orchestrated by a dealer that sold both Klipsch and Bozak speakers. All in fun, he wanted the two of them to “bury the hatchet”. Paul did not like direct radiators, but at least Bozak believed in using a large diaphragm surface area to minimize cone motion, and thus distortion.

JRH
PWK experimented with EVERYBODY's drivers and horns. The target for the LaScala was the Altec Voice of the Theater.
