New Budget Denon has Great Sound

rebuy

Recommended Posts

I decided to get a "modern" AVR for home.

Since I don't have a big budget like some here--and after reading many reviews at Sound and Vision

I decided to go with the Denon X1200W--7.2.

It has all the Bells and Whistles and Baby ATMOS.

Baby ATMOS is 7.2 instead of 9.2.

The Audyssey Silver did a nice job setting up the sound for movies

after taking readings at 8 locations.

It also has a built in equalizer that works well.

I was concerned that the sound would be a step down from my Harman Kardon.

These Denon amps are clean and dynamic. I'm surprised how good they sound.

They sound much better than my Yamaha or Onyko that I've owned.

Set up was so Easy--even a caveman could do it.

I never new there was an Auddysee Silver.

I was wondering the same thing so I googled it.

As the first A/V receiver manufacturer to embrace Audyssey's advanced DSP audio algorithms, Denon has introduced the most Audyssey-equipped products, and the AVR-X1200W features the Audyssey Silver suite of DSP functions, which includes MultEQ XT, Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume.

Looks like there are different "Suites" of Audyssey that include different feature sets?

Strangely, I'm only finding it if I google that Denon model number.  It's on Denon's website but I'm not seeing it even on Audyssey's website.

I think Audyssey has stopped using that classification, sticking to feature sets (level of multeq, subeq ht, and maybe one or two others), maybe due to the phasing out of Audyssey Pro capability
