babadono Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 @King Kong Sorry but I just want to make sure, the hum is coming out of the speaker? Or the amp inside is humming? Quote
King Kong Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 It's coming out of the sub from what I can tell. King Kong Sorry but I just want to make sure, the hum is coming out of the speaker? Or the amp inside is humming?Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk Quote
CECAA850 Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 If you have a 2 prong plug and there's nothing else hooked up to the sub then the amp is bad. Quote

King Kong Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 I'll being them both downstairs and see if anything changes. If nothing, then I'll pull apart the amps and meter out the caps and see if they're bad. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk Quote

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk Not necessarily, could be just something on the same circuit in the home causing the problem ( dimmer, appliance ETC...) as well or possibly a issue with the ground itself. Move one to a different area of the home and plug it in to a known different circuit to eliminate everything but a ground issue in the home. 1 Quote
King Kong Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 Glad I didn't get behemoth subs to be lugging up and down the stairs. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk Quote
CECAA850 Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 I'm not quite sure how it could be a ground issue if there's no ground lug on the plate amp pig tail. Instead of lugging them upstairs, you might try running a long extension cord and plug them in on a known different circuit. Quote

King Kong Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 Sorry, you lost me on that one.Not sure what happened there but I tested all the outlets in the rooms and the closest one down the stairs with an extension cord. I'll just being the sub down and check each room as well since they're not heavy anyways. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk Quote
