BassKing825
just picked up a used set of Heresy speaker cabanits and I am wondering what subwoofer to pair them with. i have tried installing one of my car subs but it didn't hit as low as I prefer. willland
BassKing825, Welcome to the forum. Congrats on the Heresys. Are they the I's, II's, or III's? Will you be using these in a stereo rig or will it be for HT? How large a room? IMO, try finding a sealed subwoofer with at least a 12" driver. Where are you located? What is your $$$ for this subwoofer? Bill
Skelt
BassKing825, you say you picked up some used Heresy cabinets. Are they empty and need drivers or the woofers blown and looking for replacements? Heresys by themselves wont reach down to where subwoofers play. racebum
need accurate T/S parameters to model a car sub for home use. some work, some really don't the JL 10w3v3 actually sounds amazing in home placed in 2cu/ft with a 3x12 port. you can download a basic box calculator like winisd online if you don't know anyone with a copy of leap. the raw driver market is honestly worse now than it has been in some time. a lot of choices no longer exist. in general, if you have the space. larger is better. your budget also plays a part.. i have a pair of heresy ii's in a 14x14 room with a peerless xxls vented in 3cu/ft in the corner that works fairly well. little too rumbly for the tight snap of the heresy though. a pair of sealed 12s or 15s would probably be the ticket.
