Current have r28f, r25c, r12sw as a system powered by a Marantz 5010. I am looking to upgrade my surrounds which are currently old satellites from an hd300 HTIB. I see that newegg has the RS-10http://www.klipsch.com/products/rs-10-surround-speaker surrounds for 79.99 each. Which would save me a cool $100+.

I've read that some people suggest staying with the same series for speakers which would be the r14shttp://www.klipsch.com/products/reference-surround-sound-speakers which are currently 279 for the pair.

My question is this; does anyone forsee difficulties I may have with surrounds out of a different generation that the rest of the system? Maybe I am over thinking it, but hopefully not wasting anyone's time; Thank you in advance for any guidance.

I recently upgraded to RP280's and RP450C from some older Icons (KF-28's an KC-25).  I've been using in-ceiling

rbh-A815L's for my surrounds and rear surrounds with both lines of the Klipsch and have had no issues or problems at all.

There may be a reason to stay in the same line (and brand) for the surrounds but in my real word experience, I'm not sure if it matters too much.  Especially with the types of sounds coming from the surrounds.

It is more important for the front 3 to matches.  Surround are not quite as important for matching.  Also, some avr's will calibrate the other speakers based on the mains.  None of my surrounds exactly matched the front 3.  Wait, I even have the wrong center.  I guess I'll have to start over.:(

Thanks guys! Looks like I'm going to be placing an order! I should have mentioned that I'm not the biggest audiophile; but within my small circle I am. Anything other than tv speakers are fancy for my family.
