Look for?

Most systems, new or older, will drive the games developed for that system. So you are looking for a system who's games you are actually going to play... what game offering is more to your liking. The bigger systems will have more selections, Playstation and microsoft... nintendo is a much smaller system.

Besides that, you are looking for system capabilities that will enhance your online experience... live remote gaming, streaming of online content such as movies and music... playstation wins here.

If you are just looking for a bang around fun time, nintendo can fit that bill for many users.

Do you need 4k support or is 1080p enough?

Native HD systems are Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, and Xbox One, Wii U, and Switch.  The only true 4K system is the Xbox One S.

Depends what kind of games you want to play as well.  Every console has a move component to it - not just the Wii.  I work at a video game store right now, I could probably get you an okay deal on used systems.

The PC is king of gaming these days it seems. In a world where NVIDIA has created superior G sync technology. It's a system where the PC and the monitor work together to create the fastest video generation possible. I don' think a TV reliant system stands a chance across multi-platform games.  The technology supports real 144 frames a second. Can any TVs even really do that? I know some advertise 240hz, but that's really a lie as I understand it.

Since I've spent so much time at home the past several months, I've thought about getting a gaming system.  Probably just use it for golf and baseball or stuff like that ... not into all those shooting people games. I wouldn't be a serious gamer, just something to break up the monotony of being home so much.

It's a pity noone has replied here for such a long time. Sorry for disturbing this topic, but it would be great to find out what games you guys play today. After finishing The Witcher 3, I couldn't find a game that would be also good, so I play mostly World of Tanks, syndicat casino poker and Fortnite. But I really want to try The Last of Us II. It is supposed to be great. Has anyone already played it?

I wish I had a review for you. The original is one of the best story line gameplays, imho. I would have already jumped at TLOU ll  but I have an old fatty ps3 and don't want to buy a 4 or 5 when it comes out. But the original was so good I have considered it just to play TLOU ll.

I believe that Windows always has a Hearts game for free. That shows you what a terrific games enthusiast I am.
