Will R-12SW be sufficient with RF5 and RC3ii?

Helping an older couple but together a small system for their living room.   I found them a pair of Maple RF-5 and RC-3ii for $400.  I can pick up a brand new in box R-12SW for $200.  Seems like a good deal but I personally have not heard the new Reference speakers.  I'm thinking since they are older they don't need to blow down their house but want to at least have some impact for movies.

The problem I found with the R series was that they sound muddy, but if all you're looking for is a punch or two from movies, they might be able to be deployed successfully if done so tactfully.  Still, of course an R-112 or 15 would be better, but I see where you're coming from.

Thx for the link Jason.  Cheaper and has awesome reviews.  That would probably be perfect for their needs and will help considering they were wanting to stay around $500 total.  With the Dayton,  I'll be $100 over budget (which they are fine with) and then I just need to find them a $100-$200 receiver that has HDMI and supports Dolby TrueHD and DTS-Master

Best deal on a new subwoofer is the Dayton SUB series subs.

Too bad the 15" isn't available until 04/19/17.  It's only $50.00 more.  I'm wondering if it's worth the wait or will the 12" be sufficient for their setup?
