I found them a pair of Maple RF-5 and RC-3ii for $400. I can pick up a brand new in box R-12SW for $200. Seems like a good deal but I personally have not heard the new Reference speakers. The History Kid Posted March 6, 2017 Share Posted March 6, 2017 The problem I found with the R series was that they sound muddy, but if all you're looking for is a punch or two from movies, they might be able to be deployed successfully if done so tactfully. That would probably be perfect for their needs and will help considering they were wanting to stay around $500 total.
