I'm just hangin and thunkin.  Nosin in some auction stuff lately but nuttin really interests me so we're back into the money hoarding mode!  Had to shoot the Schiit Mani boys an email.  Developed a hum and isolated it to the Mani.  It's going back soon since they said they'd take a look at it.  Thinkin about a Puffin now since I opted for the cheaper Mani initially.  Sounded fine then boom it wasn't as bright on the high end as it should have been.  So we'll see what they say.  They were nice enough to give me all of these problem-solving hints though.  hahaha  Sure I checked them allllll out too and the hum is still there.  Seriously?  It's possible the cart is puking on the Linn though but the Mani is the easiest starting point.  Might just order a Puffin.  Now I'm going back into my little padded cell...  hahahaha

Hi Dave,

I hope my english will be good and understandable.

To overcome the buzz you can try, if it is not already done, to connect your amp to the ground of the electrical circuit of the house on this jack.

If this is not possible you can try an accessory like this Hum Block It, it does the same thing. Of course, the earth of the electrical installation must be good.

If you are DIY and respecting the electrical regulations of your country you can do it yourself with a plug and a wire

Heard one of my early favorites mentioned in another thread recently. @BigStewMan yep their shows sounded better than average, what they played was straight up rock-n-roll and they did a couple encores for you too! When this LP came out the year after I saw them first we all thought it sounded very much like the actual show we had seen.

This was one that had to be replaced, gotta play it every now and then!

They were good until they were bad, saw the first couple of stanzas of their first song downtown ten years ago when they put stages all over for the SpeedStreet Festival, had to walk away and listen to Kenny somebody doing country a few blocks away that sounded better!

She is an American car, She isn't legal so she can't go far.

She got her mind stuck up in second gear, Where she going ain't exactly clear.

Baby please, baby please, I want to drive you home.

Low mileage without a pink slip, Clean upholstery and it ain't been ripped.

She stripped her gears only late last night, I don't think that thing was oiling right.

Baby please, baby please, I want to drive you home.

She shakes and shimmies all over the road, She's always happy when she carry a load.

Another lonesome automobile, Something bout the way she makes me feel.

Baby please, baby please, I want to drive you home.

....... hang tight!

!

Believe that should play the whole LP, think they were smokin when they made this one. Listen to "Heaven, Hell or Houston" and think of the first "Grinch" tv show. It sounds like the Grinch whipped that chihuahua all the way to TX

Well she's heavy into hallmark movies tonight, got the game recording will watch later...

from a little earlier than that last super kegger LP I put up and this tune starts out beautifully before they start jamming! I know I'm lucky to have heard this played live one of the times that I saw them.

Definitely in my top 3 of this band’s releases and the parting of ways for the bands frontman

What a brilliant album and I don’t use that word all that often when describing an album

Artist - Marillion

Title - Clutching At Straws

Thanks Mike 🤟

Not sure how many members have this record from 1977

It’s a solo album from a member of Focus

A very well executed Prog / Jazz fusion album that is a delight to listen to

Cool album cover as well

Artist - Jan Akkerman

Hotel hobbies padding dawns hollow corridors
A typewriter cackles out a stream of memories
Dryin' out a conscience, evictin' a nightmare
Openin' the doors for the dreams to come home

We live out lives in private shells
Ignore our senses and fool ourselves
To thinkin' that out there there's someone else cares
Someone to answer all our prayers, all our prayers

Are we too far gone, are we so irresponsible?
Have we lost our balls or do we just not care?
We're terminal cases that keep takin' medicine?
Pretendin' the end isn't quite that near

We make futile gestures, act to the cameras
With our made up faces and PR smiles
And when the angel comes down, down to deliver us
We'll find out after all, we're only men of straw

But everything is still the same
Passin' the time and passin' the blame
We carry on in the same old way
We'll find out we left it too late one day
To say, what we meant to say

Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the water
Those problems seem to arise the ones you never really thought of
The feeling you get is similar to somethin' like drownin', hey
Out of your mind, you're out of your depth
You should have taken soundings

Clutchin' at straws
We're clutchin' at straws
We're clutchin' at straws

And if you ever come across us, don't give us your sympathy
You can buy us a drink and just shake our hands
And you'll recognize by the reflection in our eyes
That deep down inside, we're all one and the same

We're clutchin' at straws
We're still drownin'
Clutchin' at straws
We're still drownin', yeah

Clutchin' at straws, we're clutchin' at straws
Still drownin', clutchin' at straws
I'm still drownin'
We're clutchin' at straws

I'm still drownin'
We're clutchin' at straws
Still drownin'
We're clutchin' at straws

Still drownin'
We're clutchin' at straws
Still drownin'
We're clutchin' at straws

I'm still drownin', drownin'
Clutchin' at straws
Still drownin'
Clutchin' at straws

Still drownin'
Clutchin' at straws
Still drownin'
Clutchin' at straws
Still drownin'
Still, still, still drownin'

Playing an old favourite album that reminds me of my beach culture days in the 70s

Its a recently purchased album to replace a lent out album and not returned way back when I can’t remember

Doesn’t seem to get old

Artist - Neil Young

Title - After The Gold Rush

Earlier in the week I played Genesis - Foxtrot

That album was the US reissue pressing
https://www.discogs.com/Genesis-Foxtrot/release/3110056

Im now playing the same album title but this time it’s the UK 1st pressing as a comparison

https://www.discogs.com/Genesis-Foxtrot/release/715057

Interesting to hear small small differences in SQ

A couple of the early to mid 70s originals I've got and have had are still more "full" sounding than the re-issues that I've heard. But it's not like every newer version has been lacking, several have been better sounding.

A little fuller overall and the crescendo sections are richer

But I put that down to the sensitivity of my system and speakers
