Here down under Father’s Day is in 2 weeks

But I got my present early

6 records from the family

Haven’t spun them yet but will do so when time allows

What's your secret? I wish I had my family trained like that. Instead, I get a pair of socks, or a new drilling machine on Father's Day.

I have an inside scoop - found out where they were sourced

Wife with kids got them from Aldi

I know you have Aldi in Europe but not sure if they are in the USA

They could not refuse them at $14.99 AU pesos each 🤪

At least they were thinking of me

Yes, in Europe Aldi sell vinyl albums also, a couple of times per year. I bought Back to Black and Nirvana there. In Belgium their price is €14.99, which is mostly, but not always, beneath online prices.

They also sell a dirt cheap turntable with a pretty good needle. I think it is a rebranded Rega with USB.

I have a Revox R2R in storage

Had a great Sony TC765 set up when I was rebuilding the TT

And dreaming about new crossovers, as you can see in the photo

Pitty that you´ve got a first class X-Over now , but no more R2R ......I would not bring it over my heart to sell mine

I'm in the process of re-burning my tube monos. I have soldered new preamplifier KEMET ( + / - 2% )  capacitors, because a mono amplifier began to strongly noise. So,  that I have no audible differences, I had to do this of course with both. Now there is peace again and the noise is gone.

@BigStewMan  Steve ....nice that I meet you here again. I know that you are well, because you (almost) always well. And it should stay that way. See you soon, it is 1.am in Germany, I must now go to bed. See you soon.

George

yes George, I am well and I pray you are as well.

Beginning to get my things in order as I'm moving back to my home state of California.  Normally hate moving; but looking forward to this one.

Arguably the best glam rock band

Many have followed but these guys are still my favourite

Artist - Slade

Title - Slade Alive

Album ID - https://www.discogs.com/Slade-Slade-Alive/release/2215984

34-CD20-F6-4887-45-BC-8-C82-6-B7-D7-AD2-

Okay, Slade were good, but better than The Spiders From Mars?

Different Spiders were more rock

But Slade is better

Kiss is the closest to them - Think they followed the formula

Be aware that Slade was first a skinhead band 🤪 before a change of direction

I was amused to read that both Hitler and KISS practiced their acts in front of a mirror to ensure maximum effect.

I was also amused to hear that there’s a group of people in the UK called “suedeheads”.  Similar to skinheads, but their hair is just long enough to feel like suede.  Posers, if you ask me.

I may be too easily amused.

Song title - it’s famous

Amused to Death 😎

Roger Waters’s solo album?

Like the deadly joke in Monty Python?  Constructed in sections by workers who didn’t speak the language, assembled in secrecy, and then read out to the enemy by another person who didn’t understand the language, for safety.

The enemy understood the joke very well, and dropped like flies, laughing uncontrollably.  A terrible weapon of mass destruction.

I watched Monty Python on TV when I was a kid - Think I get my sense of humour from them and similar British shows

Another is a SciFi classic The Hitchikers Guide To The Galaxy by Douglas Adam’s

I would listen to this series on radio late at night and later the TV series

I never was able to receive HHGG, so I only know it by reputation, and from the movie, but I suspect that the series was much better.  Too much to fit into a single movie.

I am a big fan of Red Dwarf, though.  Great stuff!

Don’t bother with the HHGG movie - It was crapolla in my opinion

Best is still the Radio series as you can use your imagination

Loved Red Dwarf - seen it original and re runs about 20 times
