Time to get a move on or maybe just a groove on.  1970 it is!  For now anyway.  :)

POCO-POCO-1970.jpg

Poco was an American country rock band originally formed in 1968 after the demise of Buffalo Springfield. Guitarists Richie Furay and Jim Messina, former members of Buffalo Springfield, were joined by multi-instrumentalist Rusty Young, bassist Randy Meisner, and drummer George Grantham.

Poco are considered one of the founders of the Southern California country rock sound, and three of the members of the band have been inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as members of other bands (Furay with Buffalo Springfield, Meisner and Schmit with The Eagles). However, the band has yet to receive a nomination since entering eligibility in 1995.

Just for you John!  :)

You just knew I was sitting here eating my mexican still listening to Steely Dan!

Timothy B isn't mentioned in the article until the end... BIG goof! Not yours doing the copy/paste thing we all do!

As a promo too, I love the ones I've got even a couple that were foreign to me when I got them.

Lost Rusty Young to a heart attack last year. He's the one who piqued my interest in the Dobro. They were such a great band.

Hotel hobbies padding dawns hollow corridors
A typewriter cackles out a stream of memories
Dryin' out a conscience, evictin' a nightmare
Openin' the doors for the dreams to come home

We live out lives in private shells
Ignore our senses and fool ourselves
To thinkin' that out there there's someone else cares
Someone to answer all our prayers, all our prayers

Are we too far gone, are we so irresponsible?
Have we lost our balls or do we just not care?
We're terminal cases that keep takin' medicine?
Pretendin' the end isn't quite that near

We make futile gestures, act to the cameras
With our made up faces and PR smiles
And when the angel comes down, down to deliver us
We'll find out after all, we're only men of straw

But everything is still the same
Passin' the time and passin' the blame
We carry on in the same old way
We'll find out we left it too late one day
To say, what we meant to say

Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the water
Those problems seem to arise the ones you never really thought of
The feeling you get is similar to somethin' like drownin', hey
Out of your mind, you're out of your depth
You should have taken soundings

Clutchin' at straws
We're clutchin' at straws
We're clutchin' at straws

And if you ever come across us, don't give us your sympathy
You can buy us a drink and just shake our hands
And you'll recognize by the reflection in our eyes
That deep down inside, we're all one and the same

We're clutchin' at straws
We're still drownin'
Clutchin' at straws
We're still drownin', yeah

Clutchin' at straws, we're clutchin' at straws
Still drownin', clutchin' at straws
I'm still drownin'
We're clutchin' at straws

I'm still drownin'
We're clutchin' at straws
Still drownin'
We're clutchin' at straws

Still drownin'
We're clutchin' at straws
Still drownin'
We're clutchin' at straws

I'm still drownin', drownin'
Clutchin' at straws
Still drownin'
Clutchin' at straws

Still drownin'
Clutchin' at straws
Still drownin'
Clutchin' at straws
Still drownin'
Still, still, still drownin

Just opened ANOTHER box full of albums.  This is getting out of hand!  Hopping around on one foot and trying to spin, flip and spin some more has turned into work.

Lately the McIntosh receiver has been carrying the load.  A few years ago the local station was sold and a company from Columbus, Oh purchased it.  They've stepped up the game considerably around here.  60's & 70's rock format and they're killing it.  That's the upside.  The downside is, as usual, more local yokel's blowing about their businesses.

I'll be spinning a MoFi  Iron Butterfly "In-a-Godda-Da-Vida soon.  :)

Carry on!  :)
