Just retired.

According to various media reports, Ozzy Ozbourne has retired from performing. My friends, the gentleman is 74 or 75 years of age vengeance.

I guess He´s earned it! But maybe He´ll go on recording some more albums.

Yes, I originally had the GAE & the 1200 sitting on the 4'x3'' Maple. I'm up in the air about selling the GAE. So what I did was, sent the 4 footer to the basement setup under the (Thorens 126 & the Reel to Reel). That Maple was under the 126, looking for a wall shelf. Just missed one on US Audio Mart, shulda pull the trigger.🙄 Good eye Ol Man.....😉

BTW, I cut the skirts today & just waiting for the glue to dry. I'll post tonight.

Butcher Block new location.

That wood block gives me an idea

Idea #1 - look for some laminated beam ? for suitability but a little pricey

Idea #2 - son in law lays timber flooring so I can get his offcuts and go wild with the glue

Idea #3 - find a suitable butcher’s block over time

Yup, that man's basement needs an "aura" me thinks...

@KROCK Ya gotta love that sewing machine set up.  Great idea putting your stash doors on the ends too!   😂

Picked this one up just for @MicroMara since he spied it with his wittle eye last week when I posted my "Aura" photo, which included a pile on the coffee table.  Yup, he did.  I can tell you one thing though.  That youtube video is garbage.  This is one KILLER album to "hear" on your rigs.  Clean, moves and just silently draws you into it.  Amazing!  1989 remaster and wowzer it's dialed in!

Carlos Santanal & his band, Bonnie Raitt, Robert Cray, Canned Heat, Los Lobos, George Tlhorogood and Charlie Musslewhite?  Yuuuup, it outta be good!  :)

Any Barnwood available? Nice beams there.

Don’t think I have ever seen a barn in Australia

Big steel sheds - Yep lots of them

Below is part of the plinth build sequence of photos that are part of the feet section

On the lower / last photo the TT is sitting on -

I have utilised some exotic and now very rare tuning feet made by a reclusive designer, made similar to the Harmonix TU-666S but improved

They are an absorption constrained layer technology type that release energy as heat, and can also be turned 360degrees for a different absorbtion rate for fine tweaking or to get a different tone

Nice feet. Then your options are limited, being steel structures.

Have you done any reading on stone, or man made material? I just did a quick search & your list of material is infinite. OMA makes a beautiful cast iron plinth for your Gerrard. Pictured in the 301; https://oswaldsmillaudio.com/garrard-plinth-system.

What shell I tell you ...it happend again .....😂 a further MC cart is on it´s way to my home ....

.....I bought an Onlife Research ( Today's Dynavector ) Ultimo DV 380 / 20B from 1977 NoS MC High Output (2 mVolt ) for 47K OHm / 100 pf Load MI / MM , probably the first High Output MC in the world with Byrillium Cantilever and Shibata grind, checked already everything the Trichord Phono Pre will set to MM Low 2 > 3 mV = 52 dB gain, so should fit .

Hi,

Haaaa! one of my dreams when I started serious hifi in 1978, as the Ultimo was too expensive I bought an Ortofon MC10 + transformer STM72 in 1979. Then as I started working in 1980 I offered myself one of the first Dynavector: a Karat 23R with the ruby cantilever, what a marvel of softness, but very fragile !
