Tonite over in the youtube thread I mentioned getting together w/the guys in the band from here in Duckburg.  A LOT of that story popped up today from the bassman who's played and toured w/quite a few "super groups" of the 70's and early 80's. 

 

As it turned out he's hooking up tomorrow with one of the old guys who was in the front band (The Dantes, a local Cbus, Ohio one hit wonder group) the night Jimi played in Cbus, Ohio.  I've been looking for ANY of those guys in that group for years. 

 

I read a story in a thread somewhere that a couple of the band members told about Jimi visiting their clubhouse after the show that night.  A LOT people, "writers, etc" called BS and said it NEVER happened at all yet the guys in the group swore it did. 

 

This is just ANOTHER reason I pay ZERO attention to youtube videos (unless it's the artist).  It's garbage imo.

 

Here's the hook.  I know for a FACT it happened as does the guy who went with me that night.  Jimi asked if we could wait in his hotel room for him to get back from signing the walls in that bands clubhouse.  He said he promised them he would.  Yes, he was a man of his word so he suited back up and went down to the lobby to ride w/them there and back.

 

The other thing is a couple from the band have passed and I really don't know who has or hasn't.  So when Scotty and I were talking today he mentioned the dude he was jamming with  tomorrow used to play lead with the Dantes.  He got the story from me.  He never knew they did.  So he's gonna turn the guy on to me and we'll take it from there.  It happened exactly the way the guy told it in the thread.  

 

The really funny thing about it all were the reporter statements.  "THEY" said Jimi, Mitch and Noel flew to the Bahamas or somewhere down there the next day to look at an island they wanted to buy.  Jimi did NOT go.  Just Mitch and Noel went because they were in the adjoining room and the 3 of us were sittin shootin the crap in Jimi's room ALL NIGHT!  They came in and Jimi said he wasn't going cause he'd been up all night shooting the crap w/us.  Said he was going to sleep.  They left without him cause the flight was out at 7AM and it was 6:15 then.  lol

 

So yea, I truly want to do a solid for these guys because it DID happen just the way they said it did.  We saw him leave with them and come back about an hour later.  The really funny thing is I know where the street is in Cbus where their clubhouse was located.  The hour he was gone is just about perfect for him to spend 20 minutes signing and talkin to the guys factoring in the drive time.

 

Crazy?  For sure!  Ya just can't make this crap up.  Old guys and their stories?  Yup, wanna lose some money?  Imma gon have a new set of jubes cause the egg money ain't gonna cut it.  😂😂😂💪😎

Watching your fm tuner reminds me to tell you that I have an analogue fm tuner in my set up as well . I took out my Marantz Networkplayer from my set-up and put the fm tuner into it . As I´ve been always a fan of vintage tuners I bought a couple of weeks ago a fully revised Kenwood KT 1100 . What a soundmachine !

Tja buddies ..got a further new cartridge in my collection 😇Couldn´t resist

 

 

It´s a japanese Glanz MC cart , 0,3 mV output with a fine line needle grind , not in operation now, as I´m still waiting for the new headshell that I ordered for this cart as well, an original Micro Seiki H 77N , ordered both in Japan and will take a while till arrival

 

 

 

Btw ..we have summertime here , I don´t listen a lot to music or spin some vinyl at the moment . Got lot´s of daily things to manage keeping me busy and I´m still waiting to be scheduled for the first surgery in my back in the hospital .
