Wardsweb Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Steely Dan Pretzel Logic When your high end vinyl has a lot of surface noise, the vendor sends you a replacement set and you make bowls out of the noisy set. 1 7 Quote

GWSmith Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Hello friends! Been W A Y too long since hangin' here. Summer you know, busy, projects, home owner stuff. But, staying out of the HEAT and humidity today and decided to dig out some Todd. When was the last time someone played any of these?? Bought these NEW when they were freshly released to my local record shop - '74 '77 and 1978 as they are setup in the photo. Lets go Utopia LIVE. Forte 4's and the trusty Bang and Olufsen 6500 gear. 4 Quote
GWSmith Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 ...Rear cover artwork and a photo from the live performance. IMAGINE my surprise when this ticket fell out of the cover............SHEESH, 44 years ago?? Hard to remember this show, but it was actually from a small local theater down town.....1980! 3 2 Quote

After I cleaned the kitchen floor, I put some clear epoxy in the spindle hole. I also sprayed the labels with a clear enamel to protect it. 1 2 3 Quote
GWSmith Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 I have not played these albums since I lived at home with mom and dad, certainly these prog rock sounds bring back memories of my bedroom audio setup. Just checked my Spotify account. There is only ONE of the 3 in my collection available. Kind of surprised, since this guy has TONS of albums, including MANY that are live concerts. Hermit of Mink Hollow being the only one. Ok, time to flip it . 5 Quote

Wellllll, the other day when Mayall passed I dug in on of the signed crates thinkin I had something signed and this Rundgren lp was next to it so pulled it and spun 'em both. Then hit a couple more of his. The planets must have been aligned or close! lol Not too many ticket stubs stashed cause they knew I was nuts cause I'd been there 10 hours early and I was werkin and slimy. Beer who HAS the beer was the question along with a couple others. 😂 This curmudgeon stuff is nasty! 😂 2 minutes ago, Wardsweb said: Totally get that. It's the MAJOR reason I flew to Phoenix to take the youngest daughter on her first concert w/the "old" man. They did an 11 stop "pre-tour" tour just to get a feel and work out any remaining bugs and naturally get some hype for a two-year run. The addition of Vince Gill was a nice touch filling in for Glenn Frey along w/his son Deacon. Youngest must have put some time in cause she sang every song w/o missing a beat. I think she was getting even cause when she was little she could NOT carry a tune in a bucket. Wasn't TOO bad actually as I recall. Great show though Then they finished it up w/the "Long Run" tour, which lasted ANOTHER two years. Wonder if they have enough to retire on yet? Great lp though @Full Range May as well get the rest! 😂 5 Quote
