Small town yet feed about 200k in and outta here. It's nuts Beer consumption? Gotta be off the charts. 2.5 tons of brats are consumed "they" say. The Loco-Motion is a song by Little Eva, written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King, which resulted in the 1960s fashion dance Locomotion. The Loco-Motion was released on June 14, 1962 worldwide and achieved success in many countries. In the USA the song reached number one on the charts. The song is a popular and long-lasting example of a song of the dance genre, much of the song is dedicated to line dancing. In the Rolling Stone list of the 500 best songs of all time, the song reached number 359

JohnJ
Looks like I missed the party again @Dave1291 & I'd have to be under the influence to get into that Air Force LP. I forced a listen and thought one tune was alright last year. Think it's in the hands of someone that appreciates it now. 2

Dave1291
Just a lazy day yesterday... Always room for a lil free-form improv. King Crimson's 10th album released in 1984 and the last with Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew, Tony Levin and Bi Bruford. Fripp described the first side (left) of the lp as "accessible and the "right" side of the album as "excessive." It works! lol . Great old "split" album from 1974 with each artist recording 4 songs with the others adding a bit of "confusion" cause they were thinking "group" instead of single artists.. Kottke kicked things up a bit with his 6 and 12 string work while Fahey used his fingerpicking style. A well received album back in the "day." Then a lil "Nightfly" and into a ton of Steely Dan! It worked but now... 😂 2 1
JohnJ
Man I'd like to hear that second one with Leo Kottke and friends but that King Crimson is the first whole record of theirs I heard besides hearing Court of the Crimson King on the radio back then.

MeloManiac
If you consider yourself a cynic, well, I've got the cure! It's Now & Then from the Carpenters, my thrifstore find of the day. I paid €4.5 for it, it is in mint condition and from 1973. I bought it 'blind' because I didn't know the album, but when walking home, I listened to it on Spotify, and boy, what familiar tunes on this album. The album dates back to the early 1970s and to me, it sounds like an escape from cynicism altogether! Here is a nice review, with reference to 'nostalgia': https://www.udiscovermusic.com/stories/carpenters-now-and-then-album/ 4

Dave1291
Can't slip a Leo Kottke in here for love or money. Thunking Paul is holding out on us Johnboy! lolol He's sneaky like that me thinks! Nice finds there Melo! Thrift stores clean up anymore on LP's. Ok, back to work here. Spent the last hour getting all the goodies around to put this LAST shelf up. Say a prayer cause if this wall comes tumbling down I'm in BIG trouble. If it holds I swear I'm done buying. Honest! I know you ALL believe that! 😂 Pics coming soon then. Now it's how do I decide what to put where when I start hammering nails for the framed stuff? Decisions, decisions... 😂 2
