The Perfect Room...

What dimensions would you build your room for a perfect two-channel listening room?

What materials?

Speakers on the long wall or the short wall? Etc, etc.[emoji4]

For 2-Channel: 25x40x(≥15 for point source, 8 for arrays and planars)  speakers at ~8 feet out from the 40 foot wall.

For multi channel: 40x60x ≥15 center channel at least 8 feet out and 3 feet off center of the 40 foot wall.

All dimensions expressed in feet. Poured concrete floor (Spancrete if lofted), filled cinder block or ICF at least 8 feet up, plush carpeting. Heavy drapes at least 8 feet up. Hung acoustic panels.

I've often wondered what a semi round back wall would do the presentation.

Concave or convex? If concave, there would be a focal point somewhere in the centerline of your room. That wouldn't be good. Perhaps some diffusers on the rear wall... like Studio C at Blackbird Studios in Nashville.

Love the QRDs... the look is soooo cool. Here's a link to the article on George Massenburg and the design (fairly old at this point)
