tube fanatic
For those wanting state of the art tube equipment, Luxman is certainly worth considering along with Leben! http://www.stereophile.com/content/luxman-opens-us-subsidiary-launches-new-amp-and-cd-player#DAWuOCHJrZkAHDFV.97 Maynard

thebes
"Each channel of the LX-380 uses a pair of 6L6 beam power tetrodes—an even older design than the 300B power triode, according to Herb Reichert, who also attended the launch—for a specified output of 20Wpc" Sounds like a push/pull but at that power rating it's really limiting it's customer base to guys like us with efficient speakers. Probably an elegant tried and true circuit, though. "combines a number of traditional features—including a mono switch, a balance control, and tone controls with selectable frequency ranges...Also included is a full-function (MM/MC) phono stage with a built-in cartridge demagnetizer. I'm guessing the preamp is where they spent their design time.

The is most likely Luxman's response to the US's plans to impose 'border taxes'. The trade war will probably result in a 2nd Great Depression like that of 1929 through 1940.
