Widened and deepened the desk and added side braces - all good now!

Of course I came down with a wicked sinus infection and now can't hear and feel like I got hit with a truck - looks like I'll be in bed for a day or so..  at least they will be there when I feel better...

I see a Carver amp.  Which model is it?

TFM 25 with a c1 preamp.... I've recapped both and had to fix a few bubbled traces in the amp, but both are perfect now...  Debating on using the carver with the Heresey's as its a magnetic field amp and may be noisy with high efficiency horns.... Works great with my Maggies though...

Truth be told - My former "den" has been co-opted as a homeschooling workroom for my wife, so my system is getting taken down and I'm debating what to do...  I think the Heresey's will be my main speakers moving forward and the Maggies will either go into storage or be sold.  We just don't have enough room for all the audio hobbies!

I use a TFM-15 with Heresy III's and it's quiet as can be.

You should do the BillD mods to that C-1.  It turns it into a stellar performer that's dead quiet and has an awesome Phono 1 section (2 isn't touched). I ran it and my M-1.0t MkII Opt 002 (460 wpc) and there was no noise on my CF-3's. Not sure about the Cornwalls, though. The VTA ST-70 is running now.

I had read up on those mods a few years ago and was burned out at the time from recapping both units.. but I definitely should go back now and have another look - thanks for the reminder!

Just tested the system out with the Carver C1 and TFM-25.... The 25 is just too darn powerful...  The C1 volume pot is not very good at low volume (balance is off at less than 1/8)... and with the TFM-25 you can barely have it on at all with the Heresy's...

So I kept the C1 and pulled an old Lepai LP2020a+ that I modded to the hilt (youtube vid here (includes LaScala Porn)--> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTZJeVKlh3w&t=39s ) and we are rockin'!! A bit less hiss than the TFM-25, and much lower power so I can turn the volume up about 1/4 now....

I also swapped in my DEQ2496 and will be playing with tuning curves as well... For now I just a param EQ set for below 50Hz and Above 17 Khz to match the rolloff on the Heresy...

I forgot how perfect these little tripath amps are with our Klipsch... sweeeet....

The epicness of this pic can not be overstated.... :P

Heh heh.  I see what you did there.

Photo credit to @mustang guy who is also responsible for getting me into a nice set of Khorns we transported with his truck the day he took that pic.

I'd suggest some foam tape to seal the cabinet better... place along the brace.

I think you have a great idea for computer speakers!

I was thinking the same thing actually - thanks for reminding me!

...and back to the TFM-25..

I pulled apart one of my Lepai tripath amps to see about changing the binding posts and noticed the output inductor was blackened and smoking hot.... Same happened when I plugged in the other one to test...  Not sure what is going on there.... so until I can diagnose it, they are out of service... funny thing was, they were sounding amazing...

So I'm back to the TFM-25.  I added a -8dB gain in my DEQ to compensate for the extra power and now the volume pot is about in the same place so no balance issues.

When people ask why I have a DEQ - this is why.... its like a swiss army knife with all that it will do.
