Mighty Favog
He was the first live performance my wife ever saw. It was a free outdoor concert in a park in Flint, MI (date unknown). --....Oooops....(correction) it was at IMA Auditorium.

Kevin S
Very sad news in my house. My wife and I have been fans since 1973. My daughter is too, since she was born in 1986. My second favorite band after the Beatles. Best live rock and roll band ever.
kirby
Agree. Great live band and live albums. Even their studio albums sounded live. J. Geils continued to make country music even recently. Music was his life. RIP

Always liked them, they just had a great sound, Rip Watched a rerun of a movie the other day and I think toward the end they were playing for a party in the movie. Grown Up's 2 was the movie,I think. DizRotus
Years ago, Peter Egan, a writer for Road & Track, went on a trip in a Caterham 7, during which he met J. Geils -- after the first band -- while J. Geils ran a Ferrari restoration business in Massachusetts. Peter Egan, an amateur guitar player, couldn't believe that anyone who could play guitar as well as J. Geils, would work on cars for a living. The following is from the site below: "I also introduced Peter Egan, a fan of J. Geils, to J., when Peter borrowed a Caterham 7 to drive around New England, for a Road & Track article. Peter eventually wrote another article on his meeting with J. for Road & Track. Peter and his wife Barbara flew out and stayed with me in Cambridge, MA. Unfortunately, I was unable to meet them as I was out at a Rolling Stones concert. So, I left my keys under the floor mat. When we got back they were watching my videoed re runs of the Prisoner! We went out to meet J., at his Ferrari restoration shop and then Peter and Barb went off on their trip. Amusingly I was off to the UK the next day, so left them the keys to my condo and garage! They are both wonderful people and his article about the trip was, as usual, highly entertaining." http://www.sevenselans.com/gallery.htm
