We only have one graph to look at.  Not enough info without a lot of guessing.

I agree with Rob, the one graph is not really bad.  Most of the FR is with in 5 db.  At least from that graph, the music should not sound thin, tinny, etc.  There are so many versions of Audyssey it makes it hard to talk about what it did and did not do without detailed graphs.

  • 4 weeks later...

I have a 16 X25 theater with Tscm fronts.    I have a top of the line Marantz with 9.1 and have 9.1 speakers installed.     I prefer music in stereo.    I have run Audyssey about 10 times and no matter what I do the sound improves when I go "pure direct."    I have no explanation; perhaps it is the Marantz?

Same situation...if u can post some graphs you will know the visual problem.  What does the two sound like comparatively?  I would guess the measuring positions are compromising the overall sound and you need to use a tighter configuration but thats a guess without a lot of data.  Also....try using Ausyssey flat if some highs seem to be missing

Difference is subjective but quite noticeable.     Music seems clearer and with better stereo effect.    Even with the full 9 working I hear the same effect.    I have just given up on Audyssey.   Any other Marantz users out there?
