ultruh
I'm looking to retire my Naim 110 and was thinking of going tube. Is the Manley Stingray II solid for 2 channel system (Cornwalls, Linn Sondek)?
derrickdj1
It should has long as you don't like rock concert levels
Schu
There are so many excellent topologies out there... what is it about the Manley that you desire?
ultruh
Just looking for a tube amp. I see a lot of Klipsch lovers swear by them. I really don't know much about them. It will be a while before I am ready to pull the trigger, so I thought I'd start looking around.
derrickdj1
The Manley is a nice amp but, there are a ton of amps to choose from in the market. Consider maintenance cost also. Why have to buy more tubes when you can get by with lest. The stacking on of tubes or watts looks good but, is separated from the SQ reproduction to a certain point. alzinski
The zero global feedback SET amp I use has a better damping factor than the Manley Stingray II. I suggest you try that amp on your speakers before you buy it as it may not have enough control. I was worried my SET amp only had a damping factor of 8 but the La Scala's are under control with it. The Stingray says DF of 2.4.
