ACV92 Posted June 2, 2017 Share Posted June 2, 2017 I have an old Marantz SR880U that has a low frequency 'thump' when I change songs on a CD, flip a radio station, etc. I'm not sure, but I believe this is a 'soft filter circuit' that is not functioning correctly. I would like to use the Marantz instead of the as old, or older, Yamaha RX-V590. I always liked the sound of it with my 5.5's. Anyway, I know neither receiver is really worth anything, but was wondering if anyone knew how to repair it, how much it would cost to repair, or if it's even worth repairing.
