Quartet K-10-K Woofer re-cone or replace?

I have looked at a number of threads here regarding this Quartet woofer but can't find anything recent. Much of what I find does not lead to anything I can find online like a reference to K-18-K that might work. I can order a re-cone kit from Simply Speakers and while they say it is Klipsch spec they don't say what the kit specs are. I got the pair for $200.00 but don't want to drop a lot of money into them  so looking for recommendations. I have never re-coned a speaker before so is this a good time to learn or should I hand this to a pro or just buy new and if so what?

Kind of shocked at crummy particle board construction and just four screws to hold the woofer in  when I started investigating the bad sound problem.
