rpdguy
I just moved into a home that has several Klipsch speakers installed around the patio. They are not hooked to any amp or other device--the wires run into the kitchen and terminate under the sink. I'd like to hook them into something, and do it as cheaply as possible (for now). Any recommendations or suggestions? Edited June 28, 2017 by rpdguy Add tags
jimjimbo
It would help to know exactly what the speakers are (model) and/photos? How many?
JohnA
If they are the common Klipsch outdoor speakers, one or more of these amps will do it. Klipsch speakers are more efficient than most, so you shouldn't need lots of power. However, I can't imagine a worse place than in a cabinet under a sink for amplifiers. https://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-ma1240a-multi-zone-12-channel-amplifier--300-815 https://www.parts-express.com/lepai-lp-269fs-4x45w-mini-amplifier-with-remote-usb-mp3-media-card-fm-and-bluetooth-antenna--310-304 https://www.parts-express.com/lepai-lp7498e-200w-class-d-stereo-amplifier-with-bluetooth-aptx-and-power-supply--310-298 The small Class D/T amps are made in China and vastly overrated for power output, by 1.5 to 2x. They do have bluetooth or wi-fi to allow you to stream music off of your phone, network, etc. However, you should not need more then 20 watts/speaker, unless you are torturing the neighbors.

They look like this, though I don't know the model. There are at least six.

Tony Whitlow
I would suggest a receiver. Moderately priced, doesn't have to be high powered. A CD player. You would have radio, CD, and MP3 via the aux input.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Moderators Travis In Austin Posted July 2, 2017 Moderators Share Posted July 2, 2017 Six speakers, can also use a regular steteo receiver with multiple speaker switch. Two wires go to the speaker terminals of your amp/receiver, the six speakers attach to the switch. Maybe someone can post a photo or link of what they have used lately
Moderators Travis In Austin Posted July 2, 2017 Moderators Share Posted July 2, 2017 If you already have a cheepo integrated amp or receiver you are.not doing anything with a switch like this will allow you to connect up to 4 pairs of speakers. https://www.parts-express.com/pyle-pss4-4-channel-stereo-speaker-selector-switch--310-2114
