I bet The History Kid, although highly knowledgeable and trained in ancient history, doesn't know what those speakers are in your avatar.  [emoji41]

It's for dang sure he's never heard them in the wild.  [emoji3]
My guess goes to either: mass announcement pa system for notification/announcement (they look similar to the outdoor "big voice" speakers on some of our buildings) or siren boxes. Lol

Those are likely some sort of communication set for on board Navy use, although it's hard to tell.  Except that, since USNRET has never set foot on a ship, I don't know why he would display that....

I broke 2 car windows of my own trying to drive off with those. Also a strangers window while running thru the parking lot and getting "clothes lined" while trying to get back before the movie started.......good ole days!

Back in the day  we had 5 drive-ins in our town  now we have none  the end of an era

The last I heard there were only seven or so drive-in theaters left in the entire country.  One is near Huntington, West Virginia.

I was on my way to the Skyline last summer when a thunderstorm popped up, turned around and went home. I haven't been to a drive in theater in 30 years!

Do you remember the name of a drive in around Clermont that showed naughty movies?

I don't think the new modern thin car windows can hold those speakers anymore.
