parlophone1 Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Yes, it is what it is. I suppose there were some savings compared to earlier versions of SL1200, but there are also some good points. Cuing mechanism feels like cheap plastics, anti-skate wheel is not precisely executed as I would want it to be, stylus light is plastic instead of aluminum and a bit flimsy going in and out, etc. But tone-arm is reputed to be even better than before, I like all the possibilities for setting the tone-arm and flexibility. It is easier to mount the cartridge which is good when turntable need to be transported, feet look sturdy enough and are easy to high-adjust. Plan to put Ortofon 2MBlue in a couple of days and then we hear what happens 😇 I don't care much for that Lambo bling, but I like the colors and it is a limited edition, so there is a trace of exclusivity here. Lot of purists will criticize all that, but I like it. It will see some traveling around but it wont be used for DJ-ing. 2 Quote
yamahaSHO Posted yesterday at 12:25 AM Posted yesterday at 12:25 AM Got some new tires put on my S2000 and broke them in last weekend with the opening AutoX for the year. I took the class lead by over 2 seconds. I suspect I'll get a bit faster with this thing this year. 2 Quote
