Your point?

Maybe I misunderstood your complaint:

This BS is more BS

It's more of the control freak(s) doing what I have heard of them doing before, and it's sad.

I think that this is the behavior that's getting statues destroyed. What's next, the Lounge because of all of the back and forth about sports teams?

Those 3 posts seemed like a rant and my post was the one above it. After rereading them it seems you are upset about something else and if so I apologize.

Tell 'em how you miss getting flogged in BS Land by Gilbert in the most asinine way.

Either your definition of the word flogged is completely different than mine or your memory has failed tremendously. I of course agree with how you characterized his delivery. ;)

Yes, a lot more than I'm saying, but it's just like what a lot of people have said has happened before. Again, it's sad.

Okay. I still don't understand what you seem to be upset about. If it's the closure of the No BS Forum I'm with you, but am over it.

I wouldn't challenge that. Jeff can call a lot of people as a witnesses.

:D

Jeff and I are friends. What I don't understand is your apparent animosity towards me. Not that it matters, but you seem to be making it more personal than the situation deserves. Btw, I agree with Jeff's comment that the OP did try to "flog" me in the most asinine way. Priceless. :)

You're the one trying to call me out, then claim I'm making it personal? Typical of you.

Calling you out? You are the one with the agenda:

The fact that the BS forum is gone or that you didn't find it "worthy"?  I don't get it.

Yes

:D

I know that I didn't post in the BS section much. It was a place to keep a lot of the BS out of here and let some BS fly while keeping a lot of the ones who came out here and make contributions in the other areas.

I agree with what you have said in the past, I'm not aware of any company sponsored forum that would allow an area  (public or private) for members to discuss topics with the free reign they allowed.

There are several. Some have a dungeon that the BS has to stay in. There are company sponsored forums that are no holds barred in the general section, so there is BS all through the general sections, too. I'd rather there to be a place where people can go on this forum and keep the bs out of the general section.

Will the BS section come back if I do?

I have no idea, it's not up to.me.

Here is an official audio forum.

http://www.crownaudio.com/forums/index.php

There is nothing there for non-Crown/audio related topics.

Here's another official audio manufacturer forum that us fairly repepresentative of most officiall manufacturer forum.

 http://forum.polkaudio.com/discussion/147317/club-polk-rules-of-engagement-a-refresher

Here is a restatement of their rules which is also fairly represetative.

Club Polk rules of engagement - a refresher

April 2013 edited April 2013 in The Clubhouse
I've had a few complaints come in recently about CP members straying from the forum rules.

This is a reminder that the rules I've pasted below apply to everyone on CP and they will be enforced if they are repeatedly ignored.

Please take a moment to refresh your memory on what Club Polk's rules of engagement are and start to play nice from here on out.

Thanks,
Jon

VERY IMPORTANT...

If you have a problem with another member's comments in a posted thread, DO NOT respond with any further comments that will aggravate the situation. Members have two options of recourse....

Email the moderators, directing them to the individual and thread that the problem occurs in.
Resolve the problem between both of you via PERSONAL email.
Reacting to a hostile post with more hostility puts YOU in jeopardy, and risks your account from being deleted. To be objective and fair about situations where forum members are attacking each other, BOTH members' accounts will be removed from our forum (and no, we don't care who started it).

Polk's Warning System...
The warning system is in place to ensure that the peace is kept. The offenses are as follows:

1st Offense: A private warning sent via PM
2st Offense: A public warning issued and the closing of the thread
3nd Offense: A 7 Day suspension from posting privileges
4th Offense: A 30 Day suspension from posting privileges
5th Offense: A LIFETIME BAN

The warnings have a one year shelf life. They will expire 1 year from the date of the initial warning.

*Polk Moderators can decide to skip the minor warnings and go directly to the lifetime ban based on severity of the offense.

1) Stick to the topic of the forum. This way information is easily categorized to make it easy for new members to access. Threads or posts that do not contain relevant information will be removed.

2) Trolling - members who make a conscious effort to inflame or irritate others will be subject to warnings and/or bans.

3) The discussion of politics and religion is irrelevant to good audio and is, therefore, not allowed on this forum.

4) Pornography and violent images are not allowed on this forum. This includes posts about weapons or explosives. Duh.

5) No baiting or fighting. Personal attacks, trouble making, inappropriate language, or any threatening or offensive behavior will not be tolerated.

6) No spam. Any member soliciting spam will be warned and/or banned

7) Do not brand bash. We're all in this together. Discuss what you like and dislike. But don't bash someone or something because you don't like it.

8) Be respectful of new members. If it was only you and me on this forum, we'd have no fun and the whole industry would collapse. The truth is that the world needs people like us to show them the way to great audio. Welcome the newbies. For they will encourage the next generation of audiophiles. You dont want to be the last audiophile, do you?

9) Forum rules & guidelines are not up for debate. This is not a democracy, but rather a private forum owned by Polk Audio. Anyone openly debating the rules we have set in place will be removed.
