Was on FB the other day, and read a comment from some twit that said hurricane Harvey was induced.

Now if a guy or several guys can induce a hurricane, then why aren't they running the World?

It takes all kinds of people to make the world turn...

Marty,

I believe it is the  late "No BS" forum to which you are referring.  Perhaps an edit of this thread's title line is appropriate.

Of course, the "No BS" moniker couldn't have been further from the truth.  Remove the BS posts and the six that remained would have been boring.  You've more accurately described it.

BTW, thanks again for the Pablo Count Basie record.

Actually, that statement is completely unfair, Neil.  Until the first dissolution the successor to the original open BS forum had many thousands of marvelous discussions of theology (and I don't mean the "one true church" or any of that...real theology), nuclear power, cosmology, and many other things that couldn't be discussed elsewhere without going south.  Actually, the ORIGINAL BS Forum was in the open as a PWK inspired "free speech zone" and went "stealth" under Amy, and she only revealed it to those she felt could handle it.  That died when it was perceived to be a "clique," and it's easy to see how that happened once word got out that it existed.  It wasn't.  Little or no discussion of non-BS members occurred there and those involved had no influence on Amy or anything else.  The "No BS" incarnation came into being in the hope that the 5k requirement might mean only those "seasoned" members would be admitted and they'd be mature enough to either join in or stay away.  It didn't work.  So...No BS.

OMMV, but this is how I lived it and because I understand the history I am not in any way angry at Klipsch or anyone for it's demise.  Like so many things, it had its time and that time passed.

Dave

@dwilawyer and @jimjimbo .. we started working with our goat today and managed to get a few oz before she started to just sit down on our hands/milk pail. Filtered and chilled it before having a sample. Nice and creamy, good whole milk but without the thickness of cow's milk. Flavor was a little sweet, but otherwise pretty standard and not "goaty" whatsoever. Hoping to start filling our half gallon mason jars soon!

I did indeed.

Please understand guys that I like this place, and part of what I very much like is that intelligent people love music, and I love intelligent people.  Some day I hope to be one.

Now if intelligent people are only allowed to talk about technical matters, then their minds will grow dull, their interest flag, then wane, then its off to hang out with those wild free thinkers at the Flashlight Forum.  Yes there is one. Look it up.

I also like a bit of eccentricity in people, also another thing often found in music lovers and worshipers of Gigantic-Speakers-from-Outer Space.  Same problems arise.  If they are allowed to fixate on their obsessions, pretty soon their measuring the length of the screws holding the tophat to the doghouse, or some such stuff.

So from time-to-time these people need to vent, or think, or talk about subjects that are not safe or fall within the candyland discussions of cars, toasters and food, our corporate sponsors wish we would confine ourselves to.

Maybe these corporate cats are in the wrong business.  Can they really expect people whose passions are music and the means of injecting it into our souls should dance a happy wonderland tune?

I'm sure everybody's civilized and correct on the Bose Forum.  So suits you can have a Forum like Bose. Only they call it a community and there are a total of 81,000 posts.  Or you can relax a bit leave the '50's and make the great leap forward into the '60's man.

Now enough of this. I'm off to start a thread titled "Porn and Tubes".

Dang, I forgot.  Like most longtime contributors here, we've run over our 100 megabit ceiling on photos, so our reward for helping to build this place is to be short on zeros and ones.  Which I could really use cause I have this great picture of Christie Brinkley caressing a vacuum tube that I'd like to post.  That is a vacuum tube isn't it?

Right on The best!

Do more research. Never once said it should be locked, said it was mostly xxx pages of BS. Worthless, yes.

And commented on a photo posted by another that it had been used on eBay to sell KHorns. Don't post those photos, ain't bright enough to attach anyway but know I had seen it before.
