Onslaught
Hello, I was looking around but can't figure out if center speakers are still magnetically shielded or not? I doubt with modern TV's that it's nessesary and figured that they no longer make them? I'm building a video game room with both a modern OLED and a Sony wega CRT TV for my retro stuff. I don't want to buy a modern speaker if it will affect my old CRT TV.
wvu80
Go to the page of the center speaker in which you are interested. Go to the lower right hand side and click the question mark where you can ask your question directly to Klipsch for a definitive answer. Correct. It was only an issue with CRT's.
Paducah Home Theater
They typically aren't anymore. You can see the change with the RF-7's to RF-7ii's. The original 7's had a huge magnet assembly because they were shielded. They don't do that anymore.
efzauner
How are you going to place both TVs? Have you checked with an unshielded speaker how close it has to be to the Sony Wega to affect it? It may not be a problem.
