Has been in storage for a while. Sounds so bad I can't tell if it is mid or woof. Olms on mid 11.9, olms on woof 6.8.  Sound is recognizable but muffled.

if you have another properly functioning speaker the easiest way to diagnose it is to start swapping parts.  Prior to that, loosen and tighten all connectors on the crossover and see if that fixes it.

Do you have a pair?  If so, is the other OK.  If you have two and one is OK, I would start by switching the networks.  If the problem follows the network, then you know the network is at fault.  If not, I would start with the squawker from the troublemaker and switch it to the good one.  If the problem follows the squawker, you know it's the squawker.  If the good speaker still sounds good, switch the squawker back and do the same thing with the tweeter and then the woofer.

Assuming any of the diagnostic steps identifies the source of the problem, it won't necessarily identify the cause of the problem.  Take it a step at a time.  Take photos and keep notes.  Good luck.

I have the series 1 and I would open on up and give you the proper readings for each driver if you need that info

I don't want to put you to that trouble. The other of the pair sounds good so I can check it. Why didn't I think of that first???

Thanks. I will post my progress.

If you have a K-22 and a K-55-V, your DCResistance readings are good.  What does the tweeter read?  Which tweeter is it?  What year was the speaker(s) made?

I had a 40-y.o. H700 that sounded like that and it was the capacitors.

Woof  K22 E   Reading 6.9.   Mid K52 H  reading 11.6.    Tweet K77 M  reading 6.0

Unless you have meters to test the caps, considering that you have a k52 mid, the series 1 is very old.  Most would probably suggest opening them up and loosening then re-tightening the screw connectors on the crossover and very likely, just replacing the caps.  They are in the neighborhood of 40yrs old.

Those are Heresy "1.5s", the transition from HI to HII.  Made in the early '80s.  Your DCRs are a touch low, but probably within spec.  If all 3 driver are making sound when playing music and don't exhibit any rubbing, metallic ringing sounds, then I'd replace the caps in kind.  Buy the best you are willing to afford.

The 33 uF cap can be a Solen metalized film to save money.

For the others, I'd use film and foil caps.  Use two 1.0 in parallel before using a 2.2 uF.
