Enisada
I recently tried to buy a pair of RP-280-FA from a local company. Since they didn't have any in stock they call the Canadian distributor. They indicated that these units have been discontinued and are no longer available. Is this true? Looking to find out but would prefer to buy locally if possible. I find it had to believe if they are running a deal with the R-115SW. http://www.klipsch.com/october-free-subwoofer Edited October 10, 2017 by Enisada
Paducah Home Theater
Depends on which ones. It's confusing. The original RP-280FA's were real wood veneer. Those have been discontinued. The replacement is the RP-280FA in the same vinyl as the rest of the ref premier line and are current. Surely to goodness the distributor for an entire country knows the difference. BornAgain
How does one tell if they have wood or vinyl veneer, or is it obvious? My local dealer has also closed out the FAs. I just got a pair for less than a pair of 280s and now they are no longer on their website. Edited October 17, 2017 by BornAgain
Paducah Home Theater
If they are real wood veneer it would say, and yes it is pretty obvious if you see it in person. Vinyl 280FA's are not discontinued, I just got several of them in both ebony and cherry.
