Not just amp power, but sheer tonal richness and texture.   I'm not sure it is so easy, or there would be a lot more people doing it.  I imagine that the orchestra was recorded with a mixing board also.  I love orchestral music, but I am also amazed at Emmo's sound with his keyboards.  I know I would rather have the choice of either, rather than one or the other.

Hammond b3 and bass pedals +

amplification.. a mixing board were

you can adjust the eq ..and control

the volume...with a slider.. 

 

and a controlled environment..

 

orchestrations open air recording

with a few microphones and a board..

 

but seated at the show...the conductor is the mixing board..
