avguytx Posted November 3, 2017 Share Posted November 3, 2017 I've never ran the silver faced Denon gear of the late 70's but sold, and used, a lot of it when I was in retail in the mid to late 80's. We teamed it up with JBL L series of that time (100T, 80T, 60T, etc) That stuff was built great and very solid. I've heard the older gear but it's been a long time so my memory of it isn't exact other than it sounded quite good. I know this isn't much help since I don't currently own that set. I do have 2 other combo sets....Sansui AU-777/TU-777 & Kenwood KA-6000/KT-7000 which sounded decent 8 years or so ago but they'll need a cap freshening., before they're put into any kind of use. But that will be after I'm done with the Belle clones, rebuilding the MC250 (in progress) and rebuilding a Sony STR-6060F. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
