wvu80
What is the "glass?" I didn't see that in the ad. Edit: I'm not an expert on the Heresy Industrial Ported, but shouldn't there be two round ports in the front? (Pic off internet) +++ That is a really nice example of the HIP. I have an average for them of $456 but that is skewed by very few samples (4) and one sale of $125 that brought the overall average down. That is not a crazy price to someone who likes the look of the HIP with that aluminum trim, which I do.

JohnA
Fiberglass. That is a 1st gen HIP. must be over 50 pounds with the 'glass covering.
Frzninvt
They are slot ported at the bottom of the cabinet. The fiberglass on the surface of the cabinet is to protect the cabinet since they are designed for sound reinforcement and travel alot. Those do not look like they have the fiberglass on them just specked paint.

I didn't know about the fiberglass and that slot port is hard to see in the pics unless you know what you're looking for. The ad bothers me in that there are only two pictures of a single speaker. Do you have a opinion as to the value? A residential Heresy is $400 all day long, but with only four samples including this one I show the HIP average price at $456, hi/lo is $600/$125. My opinion (not data) is a pair of HIP in good condition should go for about $500.
jjptkd
$500 sounds about right for an original pair of HIP's. The other picture you have posted is a HIP-II or basically an early version of the KP-250.
Frzninvt
You need to keep in mind these were quite a bit more expensive than standard Heresies when new. In pristine condition $500 - $600 is still fair but if I was purchasing I would certainly shoot for $500. I picked up a pair that need some paint and don't have the aluminum trim but were solid for $350 they have a ton of output since the use a modded "AA" network and run the components wide open. I use them for front effects speaker and they keep up with the La Scala's not much output below 70Hz. 1

Frzninvt
I did not mod them Klipsch designed them for the HIP and they are similar to the "AA" with a couple of additional components.
