larrylcall
Thoughts on 2 rp440c's, one on top of the other? It will also double my amp power, to 200 watts. Thoughts?

larrylcall
More of a wall of sound. My other thought is to buy a new 64lll, but I only have 100 watts, from a Denon poa 5000. My left/right speakers are rp280 f's, powered with 200 watts, as the Denon is bridged into a 3 channel. I just want more in the center. Thoughts? Moderators Youthman Posted November 13, 2017 Moderators Share Posted November 13, 2017 Stacking a pair of 440's will not provide a "wall of sound" but likely the opposite. Having dual center speakers is typically a bad idea. Unfortunately, the 440 can only do so much with 4" drivers. That's merely physics. If you want bigger sound, you have to upgrade to bigger speakers. The RC-64 III should be fine with the RP Series. It looks like the Denon is a 6 channel amp. So you are bridging (2) pair of channels to your mains. You mention you only have 100 watts going to your center. Can you bridge the last two channels so that you have 200 watts going to each front and center? If not, if you have an AVR with calibration software, it will be able to balance out the levels. If not, you can always do it manually with an SPL Meter.
larrylcall
The Denon is 200/100/200. L/C/R. That's just what it is. It's 6 channel, but bridged, this is what it delivers.
