sub-12 vs R12SW

Recommended Posts

I am trying to decide between a Klipsch Sub-12 and a R12SW. Any suggestions? The Sub-12 is higher in power and has a slightly better freq range compared to the R12SW. However, the R12SW is a newer model with new technology.

I'm not sure how "new" that technology is.  Based upon what I've heard about the R-12SW and personally heard, I'd probably pick the Sub-12.  What is your budget and where are you located?

I am in the San Francisco Bay area. I can get the Sub-12 for 198/- and the R12SW for 225/-

The Sub-12 is discontinued and is a 2004 model. The R12SW probably is about to be discontinued since Klipsch is offerring a discount and is a 2014 model.

What the difference in the BASH amp and the Digital Amp?

The R-12SW is not likely to be discontinued any time soon.  It should still have another 2-5 years of life left.

BASH amps tend to offer more oomph, and generally have more power.....

I was going to offer my RSW-10 (RSW/RT subs are some of the best Klipsch made) that I've been sitting on for a while now, but not sure it's in your price range if you're looking at $225 subs.
