How many remember party lines.....(no not those kind of party lines)...remember phone # prefix was a word.

Yes, I remember those. I also remember the early days of cable TV when there were no commercials. That was the reasoning for the cost of cable, commercial free TV. Now we are still paying for cable with commercials. The Networks are free, but have commercials, but if you have cable you are paying for the free network programming.

 

Years from now we will be talking about the Net Neutrality of the past, before we were paying up the wazoo.

OTA TV is still free, just limited channels and some Spanish channels but you still get the major networks.

I remember when the above was FAST!  I started on BITNET before the WWW existed and when CompuServe came along thought it was a dream come true.

These can still work hooked up to a land line.  It freaked people out when it would ring at my house.  Nice and loud too.
